Salem's Available Land, Buildings, & Office Space
Salem has approximately 2.7 square miles of territory. Of this, nearly one third is zoned for commerical or industrial use, primarily along the two main strees of Salem, and along the area bordering the Salem River.
There is approximately 500,000 square feet of manufacturing space under roof, mostly concerning the Ardagh Group's Glass complex, which was Anchor Hocking before being purchased by the Flemish group from Belgium.
Rail, water, gas, sewer and water lines criss-cross the city.
Our streets are nearly all paved, with brick and concrete sidewalks being installed day and night. Street lights cast their warm glow all night long.
